The Mustang, Ford’s iconic “pony car”, was first introduced at the New York World’s Fair on Apr. 17 1964.  Pictured here is the first one ever made, a convertible bearing the Serial Number 1, which is now on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn Michigan.  The birth of this American icon was the automaker’s most successful launch since the Ford Model A.  “Way to go FORD!!!”
